Exam Pap -
LEEP Procedure, Cryotherapy
A normal cytology is a screening tool for women who have pre-cancerous cervical changes without any symptoms. Since it is not a diagnostic tool, further evaluation is needed when atypical cells are present. This screening process aids in discovering potentially pre-cancerous changes when it can be easily treated and eliminated. During a pelvic exam, Pap smear tests detect abnormalities where a leep procedure or cryotherapy may be necessary.
