Pap Smear Testing

Women who have been diagnosed negative (with no abnormalities revealed) three times in a row and those who are not sexually active may take the smear less frequently. Papanicolaou smears are started at the age of 18 years old or sooner, if a woman is sexually active. With pap smear testing it is possible to detect human papillomavirus, but not urethritis.
