Pap Smear Exam
A pap smear exam can detect problems caused by HPV; cone biopsy is used mostly for severe cases.
Special instruments are inserted then to scrape the walls of the cervix. It is done as a part of a pelvic examination with the vaginal opening being broadened for an easier view of the cervical area. Papanicolaou test is an examination of cells taken from the cervix under a microscope.
A pap smear exam can detect problems caused by HPV; cone biopsy is used mostly for severe cases.
