Painful Pap Smear
A painful pap smear is a very rare thing; it hapens if the disorder is already serious and every touch causes pain; some disorders can lead even to infertility, if not treated imediately, but others, such as ASCUS can disappear on their own.
Test results take about 7-10 days to be ready. By scraping gently the walls of the cervix, a doctor will take a few cells and put them on a slide for close examination. Women having this test are offered to lie on a table with the feet being in the stirrups and the knees close to the chest.
