Irregular Pap Smear Results
Most irregular pap smear results are caused by human papillomavirus; genital and common wart are caused by different strains of HPV.
If there appear changes in size and shape of the cells and the tissue starts to grow confusedly, Papanicolaou test is considered abnormal, which calls for follow-up care and a close supervision. Cells found on the surface of the cervix are usually round or flat.
