HPV Pap Smear
A positive hpv pap smear if left untreated can lead to cervical cancer, miscarriage and other problems.
The abnormal cells, if they are found, are normally classified according to their degree of abnormality. Cervical and vaginal cells are examined to determine if there is evidence of pre-cancerous changes. This is a screening test, which is used to examine cells from the cervix and the vagina.

Some physicians do not perform this test each year. It is recommended to all women as a yearly check-up. The test does not detect other cancers. This screening test can result in detecting infection, swelling or inflammation, pre-cancerous cell changes, or cervical cancer itself.
