Abnormal HPV Pap Smear
An abnormal hpv pap smear is performed after a cryotherapy to make sure all abnormalities that can lead to infertility are removed.
Most commonly, dysplastic cervical cells are caused by infection with Human Papilloma Virus and may progress to cervical cancer if left non-intervened. When a sample contains cervical cells that appear unusually developed (dysplastic) under a microscope, clinicians use the term dysplasia to describe this finding.

Cryotherapy, Infertility
In more advanced cases, further diagnostic tests such as colposcopy and cervical biopsy may be ordered. Since a standard cytology is only a screening tool, a physician may require the patient to repeat testing in the case of mild dysplasia or order thin prep or DNA virus testing before treatment.
