Pap Smear Cervical Cancer
One result of a pap smear, cervical cancer, may be caused by vulvar vestibulitis, further diagnosis with colposcopy is necessary.
During the procedure, tissue is taken from the cervix and endocervix and is examined under a microscope for irregular cells. Abnormalities in the cells may be related to diseases other than carcinoma, yet some samples are of pre-cancerous or cancerous nature, which needs medical response.
