Ascus Pap

An ASCUS pap is more suspicious if a partner has a penile wart or venereal wart. One option is, since most commonly the problem goes away without treatment, is to have another test in 4-6 months. If the same result persists, further evaluation can be done at that time. Women at risk for cervical cancer are less often given this option. An ASCUS pap is more suspicious if a partner has a penile wart or venereal wart.

Penile Wart, Venereal Wart

Test results may indicate that there were abnormal squamous cells found (squamous cells are the type that cover most of the normal cervix). The cells can be abnormal for many reasons (irritation, infection, hormones and others). Many times, the abnormality will resolve naturally although sometimes it persists. An ASCUS pap is more suspicious if a partner has a penile wart or venereal wart.
